Catbird Tomboy and Classic Hammered Frist Knuckle Rings

Knuckle rings make it hard to open my water bottle, but I'll suffer from dehydration for fashion.

I've been dying for some catbird stacking rings for years -- I've drooled at them in the flesh at their Brooklyn shop and spent way too much time pinning them late at night. But alas, I never took the plunge. I've always held back because A. they are pricey and B. I never know what sizes to get for knuckle rings. Problem solved. The rings went on sale recently, a rare occurrence, so I jumped at the opportunity. I threw caution to the wind and guessed at what sizes I would need (I was actually pretty accurate thanks to a googling website that allowed me to measure my Datter Industries knuckle ring for comparison). I ended up with 2 Tomboy First Knuckle Rings and 3 Classic Hammered First Knuckle Rings (plus a free tote!).

Aurelie Bidermann Open Cobs Wheat Ring

One of my favorite blogs/people to pretend I'm IRL friends with in a delusional, internet loser sort of way is Carlye of Awkward City. Not only does she do my VERY favorite GIRLS recaps, but every once in a while she will post a juicy money saving/extreme couponing tidbit. And you KNOW my exploitative little heart loves those... first, how to get tons of stuff for under $10 from Bumble & Bumble's website during Cyber Monday; and most recently, the heads up that Moda Operandi was essentially giving away $100 credit with no fine print. Enough said.

I browsed and browsed the site, looking for anything under $100 I could swing for free; but ended up settling with this gorgeous Aurelie Bidermann ring for a mere $20 -- no tax, no shipping costs, no a penny over $20! It came a few days later, wrapped in the most extravagant packaging (thank you Moda Operandi!), and I have never been prouder of an extreme couponing buy. Muahaha!!

Sterling Silver Stacked Rings

An accessory staple for me.

I bought mine a few years back from SecretCharm on Etsy for about $70 for the stack of nine bands. Technically, my mom bought them for me as a gift -- she actually discovered them first for herself. I complimented her, "borrowed" them a couple of times and got yelled at for it, and then ultimately asked her to get me some as well. [ Note: She is VERY proud of this fact, since I am typically the one improving her wardrobe. Hi Mom! Thanks! ]

There are tons of different styles, colors, etc.. available there -- my mom also has some textured bands -- but I prefer silver because of my skin tone. However, I have had my eye on the gold ones for a while, so... never say never (sang like Justin Beiber because I'm kinda into him right now and only somewhat ashamed about it).

Dogeared Jewelry

I've had these Dogeared Jewelry necklaces on my "online wishlist" for the longest time and recently bit the bullet, using some of my graduation money to finally add them to my necklace wall. I've been really into dainty gold necklaces for the past few months -- as evidenced by my latest necklace purchases from minoux -- so I was incredibly pleased when I tried them on and found each to be perfectly simple and beautiful. Now, if only my birthday would come a little sooner so I could get this gold skull necklace... and this circle necklace in rose gold or silver or gold... and this gold karma necklace! Damnit. As usual, I want more than my bank balance will ever allow. False consciousness, baby! Sup Marx! Minoux Tiny Bar Necklace

I was lucky enough to be given a gift certificate to Minoux by my Ryan's mom in honor of my graduation (apparently they had combed through this here blog for a place to get me a gift certificate to -- the "online wishlist" is working! lol). In true Chelsea fashion, I spent it on the online shop within minutes of returning home -- it's called a shopping addiction, thank you very much.

Since she had been so generous, I had enough to get TWO of the necklace that caught my eye, the tiny bar necklace. It actually made it a lot easier on me to not have to decide between gold or silver; ya know, the eternal jewelry debate. I like silver on my skintone because of my cool undertones -- sometimes gold just looks awful with my skin when it gets pink/reddish -- but at the same time, I love dainty gold necklaces.... first world problems here, people. Woe is me.

I ended up buying the 19 inch chain; which sits at just the right spot (there is also a 17 inch version available). I still have $2 left on my gift card, which I plan to one day spend on the tubits necklace in gold (there is just that whole messy business of finding a job first!). Thank you, Mrs. P!

WANT: Fiona Paxton on MYHABIT

Fiona Paxton jewelry is on sale (50% off, but still expensive) right now on MYHABIT. The sale ends Tuesday, act fast if you like anything! If I had the funds, there are a couple pieces that intrigue me and would definitely become additions to my personal collection. The three necklaces would look amazing with a strapless dress and could also act as a collar to a shirt or dress with the right neckline. The cuffs are just great for everyday wear (I think the gold is my favorite).

Apartment Spotlight: My Jewelry

I took over part of the top of Ryan's dresser (sorry I'm not sorry) with some of my rings, watches, earrings, and bracelets. I also nailed all my necklaces to the wall above the same dresser. It's so nice to have jewelry out in the open. If things are tucked away in drawers, I have a hard time getting my creative juices flowing. I feel that having all my options on display makes getting dressed a more fun, creative, and inspiring activity.

Babette Quartz Crystal Point Necklace

I love this crystal point necklace by Babette. So much so, in fact, I bought one for myself! I was nervous that I would get a weirdly cut crystal, since I can be so picky and you don't get the one that is pictured, but the one I was sent looks great. While I love chunky statement jewelry, there is something about subtlety of a tiny, thin ring. Subtle jewelry can make an outfit just as easily as a chunky statement necklace or ring. I think these rings (which come in both silver and gold) from Elephantine are really beautiful in the most simple way.

Since we moved, I can never find the necklaces Im looking for -- they are all over the place. Last night I got a rush of inspiration and took my hammer and nails to the wall. What do you think?
