What I Wore: 8.31.12
This outfit had all kinds of stuff going on behind scenes with it. I had my mind set on wearing the black Jax and nothing would stop me; not even my lack of a black skirt or tights, which were pretty much crucial pieces for the look I'd developed in my head. Desperate times call for desperate measures. Those
tights were a back-of-the-drawer-find in my mom's dresser and
have seen better days -- so many pills all over them. ANDD would you believe that the skirt I'm wearing is actually an old American Apparel cropped halter top? Why I owned that to begin with I'm not sure, but I wrapped the halter ties around my waist like a belt and BLAM! Changin' the blog name to MacGuyver Wears!
It didn't end there. Would you also believe my hair is only half done because I blew up the electrical outlet in the bathroom? I haven't seen that many sparks since my first date with Ryan, ba doom cha. Just kidding, it wasn't that magical of a first date. Sorry Ry! Recent LF, Zara, Urban Outfitters, Gap, etc... Purchases
With a recent trip home and a burgeoning shopping addiction (let's be real), I've racked up quite a lot of purchases in the last couple of months. Some of these items you may have seen featured on the blog in outfits or in their very own latest purchase post, but some are brand new -- hot off the rack of my nearest Zara. My mom is responsible for the purchase of most of these items, so let's take a moment of silence to thank MamaWears, who I convinced to buy a second piece (for moi) of any item I "personal shopped" for her! A bit of a finder's fee, if you will. I help her look cool, hip, and not at all in midlife and she helps this unemployed fashion obsessee stay outfitted in hideous floral pants (her words, not mine)! This is a great deal if you can get your Moms behind it girls, work your best pitch and go!! :)

What I Wore: 12.28.11
Time to showcase yet another awesome find from the Saks outlet in Petaluma (my mom and I went there 3 times while I was home -- one was due to the fact they forgot to take sensors off two sweaters we bought the second time. But hey, we still ended up buying this dress and some shoes on that third trip; so you win this time, negligent outlet employee.) I got this dress for over 50% off! I was really happy to see that it worked perfectly with my new Shoemint wedges because I wasn't sure if I even owned anything I liked pairing them with.

Absolutely in L-O-V-E with my new sweater I got at Off 5th (the Saks 5th Avenue outlet).
So slouchy and comfy... and 50% Yak, how... exotic...

What I Wore: 12.23.11
Stealing from my mom's closet, Exhibit B: Madewell Booties. Can I steal these for real??? I've been coveting these booties and posting about them for ages... it's only fair... once again, she's lucky if she gets them back. P.S. My hair is a different color now, or as I prefer to say, it now matches my soul. Peace out ombre, I'll see you next summer.
