What I Wore: 8.12.12
I wore this when celebrating my 24th birthday a few days early at the Tonga Room with family -- felt like the right place to bust these trousers out!
Grandma (and co.) hated the lipstick, naturally.

Zara Watercolor Floral Dress
The Zara sale has been going full force in my local shop for over a month now... something I'm actually annoyed to report. I'm over it Zara, get me new stock!! Please!! I, stupidly, thought I was late to the game and missed the sale when it had only gone on for a few days. Hindsight, man... The dress is sold out from their site, but if your local Zara is still running the sale you just might get lucky (there were tons left in the Philly location in larger sizes as of the end of July).
After meeting up with my boss to discuss book edits a while back (because I'm not a total sack, I freelance), I popped a few streets over to Zara to check out the sale. To my delight, this watercolor-esque dress that I've been eyeing for months was in stock with one left in my size. Fate? Perhaps. (No, definitely not.) I scooped it up, despite a missing back button, and have been obsessed with how it looks under my Silence & Noise (Urban Outfitters) black "Boyfriend Blazer." I wore this to a meeting yesterday and I love how this outfit makes me feel -- somewhat professional, without feeling stiff and cookie cutter.

Topshop Floral and Tropical Print Trousers
I couldn't resist the Floral Print Cigarette Trousers or the Calypso Tropical Cigarette Trouser from Topshop. Likewise, I couldn't even resist posting about them either -- they haven't even come in the mail yet. In fact, I'm not sure Topshop even shipped them yet. Post shopping high, y'all. Ain't it the greatest?
I fully expect to receive a harsh email from my mom claiming these are hideous (why did I ever tell her about my blog...), but haterz gone hate. I saw pictures of you in the 80s, Mom. You're not one to talk. But I will concede, they are ugly. But "pretty ugly." You know, like how I looked in 6th grade. Correction: that was just ugly. So what that I liked my ponytails to have a hard helmet of hairsprayed hair holding them up, it was utilitarian! So what that I wore the same pair of boy's swim trunks that I bought at Nike Town for a month straight, the extra netting was really comfortable! So what that I farted that one time doing a sit up on the wall in P.E. before a run, everybody farts!
Enough about my cringeworthy tomboy phase (can you call it a phase if went on for 14 years?). This post is about some sexy ass pants. I bought the smallest size, a 2, so hopefully these bad boys fit and, keeping in mind my shortness, rest just on or above the ankle. Fingers crossed! Bless Baby J for students discounts and Ebates, I got these pants for a much nicer price than advertised! Saving money while wasting money, that's how I roll.

Zara Floral Print Dress
Do you know how long I have been waiting for this dress to come back in stock in my size? Of course you don't... but it was weeks.... weeks, I tell you. I had signed up to be notified if the dress came back into stock in the "next 15 days" and 15 days went by with no email. Devastation set in. Zara promised "Back Soon!" and yet, here I sat... alone in the dark, "soon" gone and passed. Always the obsessive, I signed up again and after about a week, the most beautiful subject line my inbox has ever seen appeared: "Item Available." Okay, in retrospect... that subject line is whatever. But the dress is anything but that: it is tight on my figure; has one of my favorite collar and shape designs up top (is there a name for this -- I just think of it as Battlestar Galactica chic); and has a gorgeous symmetrical print complete with a vaginal innuendo. HELLO! Sold.
Important to Note: I was sad to see the one that came in the mail did not have the same exact pattern as the one pictured online (beware of that with Zara prints), but I was lucky enough to find the perfect print on the dress in the Zara flagship store in NYC. And yes, I tried on like 12 to get the flower in just the right spot. ;) To see me wearing this dress in an outfit video, click here.

WANT: Topshop Midi Chiffon Dress + Floral Print Midi Dress
I made the mistake of looking at Topshop's website yesterday and it was depressing -- my bank account is empty, but my shopping cart was full. So full, in fact, that the total cost of all the items I wanted was $919. $919?!?! Keep dreaming, Chelsea. I guess I will just have to drool over these two dresses from behind my computer screen.

WANT: Floral Nikes
Holy crap! These are AMAZING. Unfortunately I don't live in either city (LA and NYC) where these Liberty of London/Nike collaboration sneakers are being sold, so I can't stop by Opening Ceremony (where they are exclusively being sold) to scoop em up.
